Verizon DSL Mac Support - Direct phone number

Have Verizon DSL? Do you hate having to wade through the phone tree to get to Mac support?

866-268-4630

Then as soon as the lady starts talking, enter in 1112.

This will jump you right into the Mac queue. Don’t ask me why the hell I actually had to call them (it’s a long and sordid tale of my DSL kinda working, them “checking into it”, it suddenly not working for two days, then working again at half speed and only now finally working.)

Pray that all you know is that you have a Mac and know nothing else because the lady didn’t really know much about them. It’s very likely that you know more about Macs than they do. Even if you bought one last week for the first time. It only prevented me from being jumped over to the Mac queue after having waited through the PC queue and the idiot on that end asking, “What do you mean you don’t have any Windows computers in the house? And what’s Linux?”

::shudder:: I pray my internet doesn’t go out again as it may shave a few more years off of my life.

I'm getting the iPhone for Verizon soon. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything different about it besides the inability to use 3G and talk on the phone simultaneously, which I don't really care about.

Thanks.

As far as I know, that’s the only major difference. Though I hear Verizon will be offering unlimited data plans for a short period (which you can’t get on AT&T unless you’re grandfathered in - like me).

any word on if and when T-Mobile might be getting the iPhone?
melissaivory asked

Well, if T-Mobile/Deutsche Telekom were smart, they’d have used the same technology here in the States as they’ve got in Europe. The problem lays with the data network: the 3G T-Mobile uses here in the US is on a different frequency than the one used in Europe. The same iPhones used on AT&T are used on European GSM networks.

So, if Apple’s going to need to re-tool an iPhone for network compatibility, they’re going to go with the one that has a larger number of subscribers. I.E. They’d make a new iPhone for Verizon over T-Mobile.

Is the iPhone coming to Verizon?
levielektro-deactivated20110613 asked

Who knows. The Verizon rumor has persisted since the first day the original iPhone was announced. That was 2007. Still haven’t seen a Verizon iPhone. 3 years later. Signs are more and more pointing to “yes” but who knows.

Myself, I’d love to see a Verizon iPhone just from the standpoint of competition. I think data plans will begin to fall in price and we’ll possibly see a completely subsidized iPhone model.
