if i buy a macbook after Lion is released, will the macbook already be pre-installed with Lion or would i still have to purchase Lion off the App Store since theres no actual physical copies of Lion being sold?
omgitsminty askedApple will likely employ its “Up-To-Date” program once again. This is for folks caught in the “gap” who recently purchased a Mac (before Lion’s release) or purchased a Mac just after its release and the OS isn’t included in the box.
In the past, you’ve just submitted your receipt and they sent you the OS for a small shipping fee. Likely this time around you’ll submit your receipt and they’ll just email you a redemption code for the App Store.
