I know how Lion is going to fully take advantage of RAM and perform amazingly there, but how much will the processor affect it? Could you hint at how well it’ll run on my 2.26 GHz white MacBook with 4GB of RAM?

Unless Apple’s worked some magic (fully possible) I’d say “meh.” You’re really going to want something with discrete graphics, in my opinion.

Now, I may be totally shocked, but I ran the development builds all the way to the release version on my 3 year old MacBook Pro (like this) for work and it was just “ok.” Granted, I’m sure there’s still optimization left to do.

For comparison, my new MacBook Pro came in to work last week, a 15” with a quad-core i7 and 8GB of RAM. It. Screams. (Though there’s still some glitchy-ness that needs to be worked out. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 10.7.1 within the month.)
